100 to 300 mHz is a wide range, you probably should split it into several bands. In fact, you most likely are not interested in some bands, like 174 mHz to 216 mHz, which is television channels 7 to 13. 100 mHz to 108 mHz is the FM broadcast band. By the way, is your receiver to be AM or FM or both? Are you contemplating a superhetrodyne receiver or a simple TRF? You can use slope detection with a TRF and receive both AM and FM. Are you interested in world wide reception or just local station?

Food for thought.
