Hi,The 7805 won't regulate properly unless you have at least 7V at the input. If the noise you're having trouble with takes the input below 7V, it will break through to the 7805 output, causing voltage dips and glitches.Also, if the noise happens to have high frequency components (voltage spikes or pulses), the regulator may not be able to suppress them adequately even though the input voltage is high enough. If that's your problem, you'll have to add more filtering components.David Ashby
