I have been trying to test the PLL chip LM565CN, but am unable to get any decent output from it. Also I am not getting any help from the National Semiconductor's Tech Support.
I am trying to see if the chip can lock its output ( VCO output - pin 4 ) to the input signal ( pin 2 ), so that there is 0 phase difference between the two signals. So I just want to check if the VCO can modify the frequency of its output signal so that this signal is in phase with the input signal coming at pin2. I will be connecting the VCO output (pin 4) back to pin 3 as another input to the phase detector. I am not sure of the external components (Resistors & Capacitors) I need to connect to the chip to get the above output and I will be grateful if any1 can tell me what these components are.
