Am I missing something? Russ, you seem to imply that you can get 256 levels (8 bit binary). With 8 electrodes on a cylinder, how can you get more than 9 different indicated levels (from all off to all on)? The common "plate" should be a cylinder, surrounding the electrodes (or vice versa).
