Hi RussIf the capacitance varies with height, the capacitance should be stable when height is kept constant? Also this system uses pulse induction with a transmit coil and a recieve coil and so no oscillator. Does your answer still apply? If I don't shield, the coil signals drift hugely! Even when kept at constant height. With respect to winding patterns, I thought that it was usually better to keep the coil winding as neat as possible, to get maximum Q. Are there any known winding patterns that are good for certain applications? Thanks for your help.Regards
