Subject: Arc Welder From Battery Charger?

I have salvaged a very large battery charger for fork lifts
and was wondering if it would have the the proper voltage
droop to use as a stick/TIG welder. I don't know much about
transformers but I do know that this type of welder
maintains constant set current by reducing voltage as the
arc length shortens. Is there any way to achieve this with
a charger for large lead-acid batteries?

I would be grateful for any information.
