Hi fellas.

One caution: Guard rings are often tied to ground, but are not necessarily always tied there! There are other possibilities.

For example, in a voltage follower where an op-amp's inverting input pin is connected directly to the output for non-inverting, unity gain, a guard ring around the non-inverting input pin may be tied to the output itself and not necessarily to ground.
