I too am trying to design a temperature independant constant current source ( +- .5% over temp.). However the environment that my design is in is quite severe. The temp range is 25 deg C to 121 deg C. The only way I could see this design is using discrete transistors, one using the Vbe across a known temp stable resistor. How though do you compensate the Vbechanges out with temp?
