How are you measuring power? If you are using DC meters, the error is no doubt due to the difference between average, which the meter reads, and RMS, which is the true power. You would do better to not convert to DC, but use true rms meters. Alternativly, you can calculate the difference between average and RMS and re-calibrate your meters.
