The sensor circuit is an ac one, this converts to dc using transistors, then LPF, then amplification using LM324 op amp. output is fed back to control the sensor circuit using transistors again. Do you think that the heat is self generated or is it coming from another component? The circuit dosn't use more than 10mA through a 78L05 V reg, including an LED.
