You need a DC to DC convertor. You either have to design one your self or use an off the shelf item. Most are fixed Vin and fixed Vout eg 5V to 12V. Others are variable Vin with a fixed Vout. I think 12V is a common out put. Try RS or Farnell as a first. (be prepared for the price)
