Hi,

I am a student in EE working on a small project. The device uses a 9V battery for a power source. However, I would also like to provide an option for using a 9V ac/dc plug-in adapter. What is the best way to do this? So, if the adapter is plugged in, battery current is not consumed. And, if the adapter is not plugged in the battery is used. Right now I have the two supplies connected in parallel w/ a diode on each positive lead. I would interested in any new ideas. Thank you in advance!

-Todd
