Hi. I'm Ivo. I also have similar idea for a small hi power hi quality switching amplifier. I've found a very nice schematic from dr. Slobodan Cuk. It is a scanned BMP archive with his article (1978), when he suggests a pretty good amplifier. The main goal is that the output current (and voltage) has no ripple !!! If you want, I can upload this archive (1.4 Mb) to you, but you may easy found this on the search engines (e.g. Northern Light)..
