Hello, John.

Of late, it's become my opinion that building one's own oscillator at more than 10 MHz is an open invitation to a serious!!! Excedrin Headache because of crystals with spurious resonances, difficulty with gain control and other devilish phenomena.

May I suggest in the interests of avoiding some prematurely gray hair that you consider using a purchased oscillator? One candidate could be Valpey Fisher's VFAC170 at: http://www.valpeyfisher.com/pdf/vfac170.pdf

There are plenty more out there too, but this one is a start.

Good luck.
