Not wanting to complicate things may I ask some additional questions
Is there a soak test I can use to detrmine the VA i.e will measuring the dia
of wire in the windings give any indication of maximum current.If I increase the
voltage on any winding and observe the current in that winding up to the point
where it becomes non linear is this the operatiing voltage of the transformer,
also does this apply if a variable voltage is applied to the secondary windings?
Using a catalogues to compare transformers is a good suggestion but is it
always an accurate indicator?
