I still don't understand why they say Ic is controlled by Ib. Where the amount of Ib is controlled by Vb.

Why doesn't they make it more clear , that is Ic is controlled by Vb.

Vb: Voltage at base electrode of a transistor
Ib: Current at the base of a transistor
Ic: Current at the collector of a transistor

I would really appreciate answer for this puzzling thing
