what is the best way? design a single sideband AM receiver intended for data communication over a coaxial cable. here are the specifications. The frequency range over the cable is 30 MHz to 46 MHz. Along this cable there would be 32 channels that are spaced 500khz apart. Also each channel has a frequency band of 10kHz to 400kHz. The RF signal at the input could vary from 25mV to 500mV, which depends on the cable length. The output of 2 volts is what is needed. One thing I needed to keep in mind is that a automatic gain control (AGC) is needed to keep the signal at the A/D input (output of circuit) within range. I also need to use a frequency synthesizer to tune the required channels.
