I've been rading your exchanges and I wonder if I might ask your help and advice.

I need to detect the approach of traffic. I do not need to determine speed, simply the fact that vehicles are approaching and from which direction, left or right. It is possible to erect two sensors one looking left the other right.

The speed may vary from around 10 mph to 50 mph.

I think a radar (microwave) based system would do the job but I cannot find the supplier of any suitable sensors, most seem to be designed to determine speed. The distance at which vehicles need to be detected is around 150 feet.

If you know of a supplier (ideally here in the UK) of a suitable sensor or can suggest where I look I'd be extremely grateful.

Many thanks
