I need to build a coded radio RC setup with a good range. 10 years ago, I made such a set with a handful of transistors, plus an SO42 (Siemens) for the receiver, with a pair of 53200 for the coding. But this is old-fashioned now and the 53200 is obsolete. Later, there was the pair LM1871/LM1872 from NS, which is now also obsolete. Anyone know what is available today for this purpose? There seems to be a trend toward 433.92 MHz, with some very nice chips on the market, but I wonder if this will not have a too short range (need abt. 100 meter in the open). Thanks regards.
