The functionality of the label and ribbon is all that counts ! Let the marketing staff call their ribbons what they will.

We have seen products which use a wax ribbon, and the label is exposed to temperatures of 500 degrees F. The label not only survives, but outperforms so-called "premium resin" ribbons in the same application.
