Our company is having problems with our die cleaning process. We spray liquid Teflon on our hot mold dies to keep our material from sticking to the dies. The dies are then placed into a press and heated to 300 deg F. The problem we are having is when it is time to clean the dies. The dies are cooled down and the baked on Teflon is very hard to get off the dies. We are currently using a hot dip tank with caustic to clean the dies which takes several hours of soaking. But even after several hours of soaking the dies still have to be pressure washed off to remove the Baked on Teflon.
* My question is: Is there a chemical that is safe and would not have to be heated up to use in a dip tank or that could be sprayed on the dies that would dissolve the baked on Teflon?
