plz dont mind my saying that, but the concept of 4-20 signal input is a bit
different from what u r percieving

a 4-20 mA input requires a Current source not a Voltage source,
to develop a Tester like you need needs a V/I (Volts to Current ) converter
you cannot simply connect a potentiometer to supply that current.

If you are interested I can send you a V/I converter with a 10K
potentiometer to vary the current from 4 to 20 mA, or 0 to 20mA, that should
work fine and you wont be able to burn your test equiment by mis
adjustments...
