As with any manufacturing process, there are specific variables involved concerning the measuring of performance, effeciency, and yield.

Three basic common area's to look at are:

1) Design: Is your product designed properly? Are your design engineers designing your machine specifications within your product design?

2) Machine performance: Is your machine performing at peak effeciency?

3) Human influence/processes: How much impact does your operators have in your process? Compare throughput between good and poor operators.
