Never seen them either, however, I did once see high temp plastic stand offs (pop ins)getting placed by a PMJ odd shape machine and then going through the oven with the rest of it.

If you have a vapor phase soldering machine, you would be able to use ordinary plastic as the teflon wont affect it, but you would still have the problem of getting them on to the boards.
