The Project : Simulation is basically a method to study the dynamics of the system. It provides a description of the system behavior as it evolves over a period of time. After analysis the inputs, the expressions are realized and circuit is drawn. This sort of simulation is used to investigate the performance of the system. Thus the goal is to minimize the statement and the circuit required.

Title : Transaction processing in Mobile Communications

Period : Nov'2001 - April 2002

Acceptance Criteria : Before delivering the project to the user we have to perform

many tests. These can be broadly divided into three parts :

Tests for Transactions
Tests for view
Tests for Results

The Project : In a mobile environment, a user carrying a portable computer can executive a mobile transaction by submitting the operations of the transaction to distributed data servers from different locations as a result of this mobility, the operations of the transaction may be executed at different servers. The distribution of the operations implies that the transmission of the messages may be required among these data servers in order to communicate the execution of these operations.

In the project " Transaction Processing in Mobile Communication" an implementation of Reservation Algorithm (RA), we will address the distribution of operations that update partitioned data in mobile environments. We show that for operations pertaining to resource allocations the message overhead introduced by the distribution of operations is undesirable and unnecessary. We introduce an implementation of a new algorithm, the Reservation Algorithm (RA) that does not necessitate the incurring of the message overheads for the commitment of mobile transactions. We also address two issues related to RA-algorithm : a termination protocol and a protocol for non-partitioned - commutative operations.
