Anyway, PCM is a tecchnique used to convert an analog signal to digital, then MUX this dig. signal with other dig. signals and transmit them over a T1 / E1 line. PAM is the first stage in achieving a PCM signal.

Smapling rate is determined by the Nyquist Rate...rate must be twice the highest freq. of the signal you're smapling...
