We have some failed components that are made from 4140H that was austempered at 430 degrees F.
How can we establish that the ductility is per the intention of the Austemper process and not just like 4140H that was through hardened and tempered at 430 F.
The failure mode would indicate brittle failure, but the hardness is correct per manufcature.
