Thanks, but let's say the resistor itself is visibly damaged (turned to powder)or cracked. What would be the best procedure or method to try and arrive at a corrective measure. I have been repairing insturments that have NO diagrams and it gets frustrating. I have no formal electronic training but I make a great living doing it. My methods are of my own design and most likely over done. Would appreciate any input on proper methods of doing any diagnosis.
