I have a Thinkpad A31p which my son has spilled water on. Fortunately, I was able to shut it down and wipe the keyboard immediately and then I turned the machine upside down over a fan for a few hours. The machine operates fine in every way now but there appears to be a "stain" on the bottom half of the screen that looks as if water has leached into the lcd assembly. this "stain" appears to be behind the lcd panel. The lcd works fine and has no lost pixels. Has anyone dealt with this type of repair before and if so is it possible to do anything about this stain if I disassemble the LCD assembly? Thanks in advance for your replies.
