I am trying to put together an upgraded computer. I got a cheap computer that worked and I have added a new hard drive (2GB instead of the .5 that came with it). I have reconnected everything, including the CD Rom, but the monitor will not turn on and it doesn't sound like the hard drive and CDRom are doing anything. I have checked to see if there are any loose connections and I have tried adjusting all of the jumper settings but nothing seems to work. Can somebody please tell me what my problem is before I have to pay to have it looked at?
Also, the old hard drive had Win95 as the OS and the new one is Win98. Am I going to have any problems when I get the monitor working? I have a Win98 start up disk made, but will I need anything else? Thanks for your help.
