Dear Lisa....

99 times out of 100 this means the BIOS battery has failed... a very minor problem, but one that means nothing will work right, and things will go crazy until you replace it. Its a very simple part, and inexpensive too. It resembles a watch battery and sits on the motherboard in plain sight when you open the case. IF the computer is 4-7 years old or more this is very common.
