If the memory slots are white, chances are they are 72 pin simms which must be installed in pairs. If the slots are long and black and the memory snaps in perpendicular to the board, it is a good bet that it is 168 pin SDRAM DIMMs. Now, the first generation of 168 pin dimms was edo but if the computer is within 3 to4 years old, its a probability that is takes SDRAM. You can actually buy 133 MHz DIMMS because you can underclock the newest memory all the way down to 66 MHz. 128 meg of RAM on a DIMM goes for about 30 bucks.
