We need a new computer and my husband believes he can buy one of those deals that Fry's
(local electronics store) is always offering and assemble it. In the past he has installed hard and floppy drives, modems, etc., but never assembled an entire computer. Last weekend Fry's offered a 700mhz AMD cpu with motherboard, case, power supply, modem, etc. for $399. They had a 550 Intel system for $299.My husband wants to build his own computer in order to learn more about them. I don't want to spend $800 on parts and still not have a waorking computer. I have two questions, really. Do these kits from Fry's contain components as good as the ones you get if you had a computer custom built; and is building a computer this way going to require advanced technical knowlege and ability, or could you do it with simple instructions like a book or something? Thanks, Libby
