Sirs:

Recently I received the request from our client a new approach for 'coating
thickness control of metal coater' of color coating line of metal strip
coil.

Our client explained his idea that we could control the coating thickness if
we use the thickness gauge after the coater and dry oven. I don't have the
experience with this kind of coater control. We just used the nip pressure
control of the coating roll of coater for the coater thickness control.
However, as you know well, coating thickness could get affected by the speed
difference between metal strip/pain-application roll/paint-pick-up roll,
viscosity of paint, operation temperature of the coater area, etc. I think
the long lag of thickness-sensing time from coater to thickness gauge would
be the problem. And I'm not sure what kind of thickness gauge I have to
use.

Would you please let me know your experience with this kind of coater
control.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Regards,

Jay
