Hi people,

We are evaluating an AC adapter for sale in the UK market, sold as part
of an existing product we manufacture and we have found the adapter does
not meet dimensional requirements of BS1363A.

The questions I have are:

If we get the supplier to change his tooling so the adapter does meet
BS1363A, do we have to get it approved for sale into the UK market, or
can we just sell it in the knowledge that it does now meet the standard?

What standard or document can I refer to that would verify the UK policy
on the previous question?

Also, do we have to have BS1363A to sell the adapter into UK? (I presume

Thanks for any answers,
