I view this thread with interest. Read the following URL for a summary of PCB design rules relating to EMC
and remember to
1. keep your ground planes aligned
2. do not let a signal line cross a gap
3. It is futile to get a low profile SMD capacitor to behave as a capacitor
at 1 GHz, unless it's size in the order of the 10's of pF
4. Try to lower the impedance of your ground plane by using the thinnest substrate money can buy....
