Hello,There is a DC-DC converter in each plugin card. The ground reference (signal ground) of each ofthese outputs are connected together throughthe backplane. However, I have seen variousschemes used for connecting the signal groundto the chassis ground, i.e. through a 1Meg Ohmresistor, a ferrite bead, etc. I am not sureabout the reason for this. I agree thatthe signal ground is noisy. But why not makea solid connection between that noisy ground andthe chassis. Is that an EMC issue or a safetyissue?Thanks./Bhooshan
