I see three problems with your approach:
1) Once the mass is fused together it will be more difficult to grind into processable chips.
2) Unless the material is sorted before fusing it will be impracticle to sort afterwards. Recycler usually prefer to buy whole bottles, etc. so they can sort them themselves to assure QC.
3) The energy cost to fuse the material would more than offset and gains in shipping cost.
Current technology has local balers to compact, but not fuse, post consumer bottles for shipping to a processing location.
