Seminar Announcement: Radiation Processing of Technical Products. May 27-28, 2002, Brussels, Belgium. Details at: http://www.iba-worldwide.com .

A 2-day seminar on the how radiation processing (electron-beam treatment) is used to cross-link, cure, and in some cases selectively chain-scission, a variety of polymers for the fabrication of high performance technical products.

Topics include:

Radiation chemistry of polymers with the emphasis on morphology and enhancing thermal, physical, and chemical characteristics.

Case studies from the specialty cable, advanced composites, heat shrink, hydrogel, PTC wire, closed cell foam, gel-fraction modified resin, perflourinated polymers, and automotive industries.

Development programs for new products and adaptation of existing applications.

How to easily access the international irradiation community for consulting, development, and processing services or equipment.

Of interest to: polymer chemists; resin and additives suppliers; specialty compounder and blenders; manufacturers and users of extrusion, injection and rotational molding equipment; new application managers; R&D leaders; operations research specialists; and polymer processing and crosslinking consultants

This applications oriented program will demonstrate that polymer users and specialists don't need to become experts in the irradiation sciences in order to make irradiation technology profitably work for them.

The seminar is jointly hosted by IBA (Ion Beam Applications sa) and the independent members of the Rhodotron Owners Group. For more information and registration form, please visit or contact Juliette Bodson at (+32) 10-47-5892 or fax us at (+32) 10-47-5992. or by email at bodson@iba.be
