Plastic is thermoplastic ( it melts when heated)
Rubber is thermoset (it solidifies when heated, like boiling egg)

So when you talking about injecting rubber & plastic they are completely different machines.

However , there are some thermoplastic rubber , eg like Katron & Santropene , you can still use the plastic injection machine to do rubber like items.
