If you use a synthetic in older engine (I have three 1970 v8's using synthetic) oil pressure will only be a problem is you use a low viscosity oil.

Make sure that your seals are compatible with synthetics. I know of several older jags using synthetics, but, it is best to check with the OEM.

Use the highest viscosity you can in the engine. 15W50 is my choice for 0C and up. In winter you can go to a 10w30 for -20C. If you are in a colder climate, then a 5w30 would be a good choice.
