Hi there,

My mechanic has told me that older engines (my '77 XJ6) have larger oil passages to allow for (once) inevitable sludge build-up; and that using a clean running synthetic will cause a loss of oil pressure - presumably by cleaning out the passages.

Is this something to worry about or might he be just passing on an old wives tale?
