Auger flighting segments should be pulled over the auger tube / shaft and tack welded to that tube / shaft in the pulling machine. This method allows the flight to be pulled down tight against the tube / shaft and eliminates spring back out of the pulling machine. The machines I have seen are shop built using a twin channel iron or tubing frame slightly wider inside than the largest auger segment flat pattern diameter. Some sort of clamping device similar to a C-clamp grips the flighting; one clamp is fixed; the other is attached to a hydraulic cylinder. Hope this helps. Jim C.
