I read the paper "Backup Rolls: New Surface, New Life", by S. Atamert et al., that was published in the September 2000 issue of Iron and Steelmaker. It deals about the refurbishing of hot strip mill backup rolls with weld deposits.
I would like to know more details about this new procedure. Does somebody know which steelworks all over the world are using such technique? I would like also to know if possible, the E-Mail addresses of the authors of that paper: S. Atamert (Welding Alloys Ltd.), I. Kayahan, S. Acur, N. Ofluoglu (Eregli Iron & Steel Works, Turkey), F. Candella and D.M. Knowles (The University of Cambridge).
All the best,
Antonio Augusto Gorni, Mat. Eng., M. Eng.
