there are not many clear answer as the typical lists of liner recomendations is soley based on experience. In many cases there is no recomendation or a particular liner material is not mentioned because it has just not been tried. Silver would probable work with graphite. I would not recomend it because I have no data to support it's compatibility and I do have experience with Moly and Alumina... so why take the chance. Typically high dollar materials like silver, gold, platnium etc. were not used with straight graphite because particles of the graphite could contaminate the material (it is hard to clean graphite after machining and remove all "dust" type particles.
