We have a E-beam evaporator to deposit silver electrode. Silver metal source is in a graphite cruicible liner.

The problem we have is that a new silver metal source turned to dark grey or green color very quickly. I'm not sure whether it's due to contamination or just oxidation.

Is this normal? If not, how to prevent this?
