Do you want the gold to lift off (your subject says "Evaporated Gold doesn't lift from substrate".

If you are having trouble with adhesion (if you do not want the gold to come off) and your process will allow it a layer of nichrome will make a tremendous diference. We have found gold to be difficult this way. The nichrome layer will even allow you to coat glass with no lift off.
