Energy of a molecule is equal to 3/2 kT or 1/2MV2 therefore the velocity is proportional to (T/M) to the 1/2 power. T is temperature in degrees Kelvin. At room temperature the velocity of an "air" molecule is about 4.6 X 10E4 cm/sec. Therefore at about 1200 K the velocity is about twice that at room temperature. Don Mattox
