Dear All,

Can you tell what kind of lubricants can be used in high-vacuum?

In our sputterer (Perkin-Elmer 2400)we have problems with rotating substrate table. It is fixed on the metal pivot with two O-rings on it.
So, O-rings provide isolation vacuum-air, but also they are exposed to friction when pivot turns.

According to manual these o-rings are lubricated with "moly di sulphide" from Molykote.
I'm not sure if this information is complete, probably I need more details to find it.
Also, I think there are some equivalent lubricants.

Do you think, I can oil the O-rings by moving the table holder up-and-down?
I'm afraid of removing all the holder and the pivot.

Best regards,

Maciej Wojdak
