I am a beginner of PhD student. My project involves coating the compacted alumina surface with gold to analyse the properties. My sample size is 20 mm diameter and 20 mm height. I faced a problem of using the sputter coater, probably the conduction.

What will be the most suitable pressure (plus argon presence) and voltage in this case? And to what extent the conductive paint help to improve the situation?

I appreciate very much if someone give me some suggestions.
